There are around 7.4 million people currently residing in North West England, many of whom may be struggling with alcohol addiction, drug addiction, behavioural addiction including gambling, gaming addiction or shopping addiction, or an eating disorder such as binge eating disorder, anorexia nervosa or bulimia. Fortunately, there are many addiction treatment options on offer in the North West of England, ranging from outpatient care to inpatient programmes at private rehabilitation centres. Those who are willing to commit to addiction recovery will discover the life-changing benefits of inpatient addiction rehab.

What is offered at rehab in North West England?

There are two forms of rehabilitation available across different counties of North West England.

Outpatient rehab

Outpatient rehab involves clients attending support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (AA) in North West England, as well as local day centres for detox treatment and therapy. These centres can be found all across the region, be it Blackburn with Darwen, Blackpool, Cheshire East, Cheshire West or Greater Manchester.

Inpatient rehab

Inpatient rehab, on the other hand, can last between a week or several weeks depending on your personal requirements, and you reside at the rehab therapy centre for the entirety of your treatment. These are available at private centres, which are also accessible from all areas of North West England, including Chester, Cumbria, Halton, Lancashire, Merseyside and Warrington.

UKAT’s inpatient rehab programmes include medical detox as well as one-to-one and holistic therapies. We treat the physical and underlying psychological factors of your struggle to give you the best chance at making a long-term addiction recovery.

NHS and private rehab in North West England

You may be wondering if the NHS and private services offer different forms of addiction treatment. NHS therapists may suggest that you attend a support group like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA) in your local North West England area. The NHS wellbeing and drug services treat addiction through detox, medication (if required) and talking therapy, but in-person NHS treatments can be delayed by long waiting times due to the vast influx of patients, causing a backlog.

The treatment delivered by private rehab clinics is offered at a fee that is dependent on the length of your programme. Despite the financial cost, one of the greatest benefits of private addiction rehab is that you can skip long queues and find a place at a rehab help centre in North West England in a matter of days.

It is always wise to consult your GP before you decide on treatment. Talking through your options with a medical professional can be a brilliant first step towards addiction recovery.

Nearest UKAT centres to North West England

We would advise you to think about the distance of a rehabilitation care centre in relation to where you live. You may wish to remain relatively close to your family and friends at home to ease the transition into living at a residential rehab clinic. However, you might want to start your addiction recovery at a rehab centre that is further away from home to remove yourself from the stressors of normal life.

If you would like your family to learn more about addiction, UKAT offers a family support programme as a part of the aftercare treatment for all of our clients. This programme teaches your family members how to help you maintain sobriety and positive lifestyle changes once you return home. There is currently one UKAT rehab clinic in the North West region of England and two more in nearby counties:
