COVID-19 Updates & Safety Precautions

In this time of uncertainty, one thing remains the same: that our number one priority is and will always be to protect and care for our clients, staff, families and friends.

The UKAT team are continually monitoring and responding to the pandemic as it evolves. We are taking every appropriate step in accordance with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Public Health England.

We remain committed to welcoming new clients in need of help, providing high-quality treatment to everyone in our care and serving our communities.

Shielding and testing you for your safety

We are now able to provide shielding and a PCR (antigen) Coronavirus test to new clients before they begin their main addiction treatment programme with us.

This ensures that all clients and staff are protected to ensure you are safe to engage in treatment and begin your recovery journey in the quickest yet safest possible way.

New clients will initially be shielded, living full-board in one of our facilities, enjoying their own room with en-suite bathroom, TV, mobile phone access and games. All clients at all stages of their time with us will be supported 24/7 by our incredible medical and addiction therapy teams.

We’ve also taken extra precautions across the UKAT Group to protect you, including;

  • Increased pre-admission protocols and screening
  • Our medical staff will evaluate each new client on a case by case basis
  • Screening of all new client admissions for COVID-19 symptoms, travel history and exposure
  • Daily health checks to all staff and clients for COVID-19 symptoms
  • Following the strict guidelines set daily by the Care Quality Commission and Public Health England
  • Increased level of infection prevention and control, sanitation and hygiene
  • Temporarily ceased family group, fellowship meetings and family visits as a precautionary measure and in line with current guidelines
  • Employees who are not in direct care roles will be working remotely
  • All staff travel is cancelled to decrease exposure on planes and trains to reduce the risk of spreading the virus

To support our clients leaving treatment during the Coronavirus crisis, we have launched weekly online aftercare support sessions. All clients leaving treatment during this time will be given access and the support they need to start their recovery journey.
