The lockdown has seen a substantial increase in the number of people suffering from addiction, which has left UKAT with a higher number of calls for addiction support from all over the UK.We have acquired Care Plus Group’s Linwood House in South Yorkshire to meet that demand and ensure that anyone who needs support can access rehab and receive world-class care.

The building will undergo a complete makeover, including refurbishing the therapy, dining and relaxation spaces and preparing 30 bedrooms, to ensure they are as comfortable as possible for those focusing on recovery. We plan to retain and train the staff currently working at the centre, to avoid any job losses and boost morale in the centre at this challenging time.

As with UKAT’s other seven centres, Linwood House will treat all types of addiction, whether it be a substance addiction to drugs or alcohol or a behavioural addiction such as gambling and gaming. Mental health conditions will also be catered for, and we are working towards welcoming those aged under 18 for help with eating disorders in the near future.

All clients that need it will be offered a medical detox on arrival, alongside a holistic 12-step programme. There will also be daily activities to help clients focus on sobriety, such as yoga, acupuncture, trauma therapy and music therapy.

Linwood House is UKAT’s eighth rehabilitation centre to open, spreading our service across Essex (Sanctuary Lodge, Sussex (Recovery Lighthouse), Surrey (Primrose Lodge), Bedfordshire (Liberty House), West Yorkshire (Oasis Bradford), Cheshire (Oasis Runcorn), Oxfordshire (Banbury Lodge) and South Yorkshire.
