UKAT updated facility safety measures (February 2022)

A UKAT Owned rehab facility

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we have maintained high standards of treatment and safety in our clinics. This included remaining open through the first and second quarantine periods. Now in the first quarter of 2022, we continue to implement control measures to keep all staff and clients safe and ensure that our treatment can still be delivered.

However, due to the measures needed to keep everyone safe in our care, there is disruption to normal service. Certain aspects of treatment have been changed to ensure our environments remain COVID-19 safe. Here are some changes to expect at our clinics:

On arrival:

  • Pre-admission questions will be asked and temperature taken
  • A lateral flow test is requested and must be negative before entry
  • A mask must be worn for the first three days
  • PCR test to be completed on day one
  • Meals and medication will be brought to clients’ rooms for the first three days
  • Smoking area will be socially distanced

General:

  • Family groups and aftercare have now moved online
  • External gym facilities are not currently available for centres without on-site gyms
  • Masks are required for unvaccinated clients
  • Fellowship meetings will take place over Zoom in support groups, rather than as external visits
  • Weekly Covid-19 testing will take place
  • Visitors of clients must answer a screening questionnaire and wear a mask at all times
  • Certain alternative therapies may be paused if providers show Covid symptoms
  • Town visits are suspended until further notice and until it is safe to recommence

All eight of our clinics remain open for treatment, with a shielding period before entering communal areas. Our control measures mean that our environments are Covid safe and our CV19 Action Response team continually reviews risk on a daily basis.

Remember that rehab is a medical priority for those suffering from addiction, so please don’t hesitate to reach out for support if you or a loved one needs assistance. You can speak to our admissions team if you have any more questions about our Covid-19 guidelines.

Our brand promise

If you successfully complete our 90-day inpatient treatment programme but experience a relapse within 30 days of leaving, we will welcome you back for complimentary 30 days of treatment.*
